Welcome to Cat repellers website

Cat repeller is a device or substance that keeps the cats away. It is used mostly by people that are trying to protect their gardens or bed flowers from being damaged by cats (and their fouling). The commercial repellers are not harmful to cats and they fall into two categories: devices and substances; while the devices typically use high-frequency noise or low voltage electricity to keep the cats away, the substances have smell that is truly unpleasant to cats.

The cat repeller is a device or a substance, which prevents cats from entering a protected area.

What are the benefits of buying a cat repeller?

If you want to prevent cats from entering your garden and littering, you can buy and use cat repeller, which keeps them at distance without causing any harm to the animals. In addition, the cat repellers are used by users, who want to keep the cats away from their birds.

What are the different types of cat repellers and what are their features?

The cat repellers are divided into two major types – devices and substances and each type could be quite successful at keeping the cats away from the protected area.

  • Devices – the devices, which are commonly used as cat repellers are electric fences and ultrasonic devices. Using the electric fences has caused a lot of controversy, is also costlier, and could cause harm to the animals if higher than the recommended voltage is used. The ultrasonic devices emit audio (high frequency noise), which most humans cannot hear, but which cats fund uncomfortable. These devices are either battery or electricity powered and work reasonable well, but could be ineffective if the cat is hard on hearing. For higher success, the ultrasonic devices should be used in combination with another repeller type (substance) and moved from one place to another from time to time. A special type of ultrasonic cat repellers is the scattergun, which is activated by pressing a trigger and emits the same high frequency noise.
  • Substances such as lion dung, citronella oil, and methyl nonyl ketone crystals are used to repel cats. They are either scattered around the area or used in the form of sticks (the citronella sticks are often sold as repeller sticks) and prevent the cats from entering the area.
